I am busy in my retired life, and LOVE my cat-sitting adventures! All have their unique personalities and I love giving and getting cuddles.
I've also traveled a lot during my business career and know how stressful and anxiety provoking it can be to leave these babies alone. I make sure you know they are loved and well cared for.
My hope is to allow you guilt free separation from your kitties while receiving some kitty love. I will send pictures and share what is going on in their lives while you are away.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've loved sitting for Meowtel! I've been with Meowtel since 2021, and I'm delighted to get my badly needed kitty fix! I also travel internationally, cat-sitting and staying in peoples homes so they are comfortable taking their badly needed vacations. It's been an awesome win/win for me, and it's all thanks to Meowtel.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love it when they are snuggled next to me, purring as they droop off to sleep. I especially love the head butts.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I wish I could pick out a favorite, but frankly I've loved them all.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I don't have any kitties right now. I decided NOT to replace my last cat as I knew I wanted to travel. Then I saw an ad for Meowtel and the rest is history! I get my kitty fix and have the freedom to travel when good opportunities arise. Once the traveling stops, I will reconsider bringing a fur baby or 2 into my home.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Not every pet-parent knows the rigorous training and background checks Meowtel practices before allowing someone to be on their platform. They check references thoroughly, have significant training with stages of testing to make sure we understand their rules, and then there is one final test after the video with the CEO where you can't even have one wrong answer! Anyone that makes it on this site is a true cat-lover! This is why I can say that if I'm not available, I know you will be in good hands with other Meowtel cat-sitters.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I had one older cat almost die on me. I could sense something was not right, and it was a Friday and made sure we visited the vet as the weekend was approaching. The Vet worked some magic to keep her alive, and I spent many hours in bed with her laying on my chest. I believe it was good timing, intuition and lots of love that kept her alive until the parents came home. Unfortunately she passed a week later.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes I am available during the holidays. Please book early as I get full pretty fast.
What is your favorite cat toy?
The laser light - it's hilarious and they get good exercise chasing it!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I let anxious kitties have their space. The best thing I can do is make sure they feel safe. I work quietly to make sure their area is clean and they have good food and clean water. Sometimes I will just sit in the middle of the floor (or even lie down), which sometimes allows them to feel safe getting close to me. Other times I can tell when my presence stresses them out and I do what is best for the cat, leaving them to their safe environment.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Austin cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Jean was all around phenomenal. From the beginning, we got explicit confirmation from her that she was all set to take care of our babies and I had to add on more days which went without problem! We got pictures every day to see how happy our cats were. They were in good hands, clearly! Our apartment was well taken care of when we got back - the cats even tried to take apart my fall decorations and Jean nicely moved away all those torn down pieces. When we arrived home, we had much much less to do compared to other sitters! The water bowl was filled and their liter boxes cleaned. The cats were much less anxious when we arrived home. They looked happy and content. Definitely trust Jean and will book with her again!
