I’ve always felt a special connection with cats, even my friends’ cats tend to jump on my lap or rub around my legs like we’ve known each other forever. Sometimes I joke that I must have been a cat in a past life, because I seem to understand their moods and behaviors instinctively!
Beyond cuddles and playtime, I’m also confident with hands-on care... Hi, I’m Olha, a lifelong cat lover and proud cat parent to two beautiful, affectionate cats of my own for 8 years. Growing up, I always dreamed of having a cat, but my parents didn’t allow pets, so now that I finally have them, I give them all the love I’ve been saving up! My cats are adventurous, devoted, and follow me everywhere around the house. I love their independent nature, unique personalities, and the quiet companionship they offer.

Beyond cuddles and playtime, I’m also confident with hands-on care. I regularly brush my cats’ teeth, trim their claws, and have experience giving oral medication and applying eye drops. When my male cat had a UTI, I was able to give him antibiotics daily with no trouble, and I successfully treated his eye infection with prescribed drops.

If your cat needs anything specific like brushing, eye cleaning, or other care I’m more than happy to help. My friend has asked me to clean her cat’s eyes and groom her long-haired kitty when they were away, so I’m comfortable with all kinds of tasks. Just leave me clear instructions and let me know about your cat’s temperament, and I’ll make sure they’re cared for with patience and love.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting off and on for at least 10 years. I helping friends with their cats and dogs, and now I often cat sit for neighbors. People also frequently come to me for advice about cat behavior and care, since I’ve learned a lot over the years and have a strong understanding of feline needs and personalities.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
It’s always a joy to spend time with cats. I love being able to help out fellow cat owners, because I know how important it is to have someone reliable checking in, as I have my own cats. Also I enjoy the calm routine of feeding, cleaning, and spending quiet time with them, it’s somewhat relaxing and fulfilling.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
One of my favorite experiences was with two tabby cats: a mother and her little kitten. I came by to check their litter boxes, feed them, and spend time with them. The kitten had so much energy and loved to play, and the mom was sweet and calm. The owners asked me to brush the mother cat because she was shedding a lot, and I was really happy it went smoothly she actually enjoyed it and fell asleep on her back. I visited them twice a day for a week. A couple of times the kitten made a bit of a mess, so I asked the owners where their cleaning supplies were and cleaned up right away. They were so grateful that they didn’t come home to a mess and it felt good to be able to help and give them peace of mind while they were on vacation.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Austin cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
