Cat Sitting in Baltimore, MD
When I'm not watching cute kitties, you can usually find me making handmade wares in my workshop or taking pictures! I mostly make pottery and sewn goods but also do some bookbinding. I sell my products locally and around the country. One of the things I love about being a self-employed artist is that it allows my schedule to be open for making kitty visits! I can make myself available just about any day of the week between 9am and 7pm and I can usually be pretty flexible surrounding that time frame. I'm located in Charles Village but am able to drive to just about anywhere in Baltimore city. I'm very comfortable getting around the city (born and raised here!) and try to keep my service area mostly within the city limits so I can schedule the appropriate number of visits and really spend quality time with your kitties!
I am fully vaccinated and boosted and am happy to stay masked during all kitty visits if you prefer. I use hand sanitizer right before and after my visits.
If you're a new client, please make your reservation at least 1 week in advance so I have ample time to setup a meet and greet and key pick-up with you.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
The cats! Cats have always held a special place in my heart, each one is so different and the fun is in getting to know them. To me it's an honor to care for cats especially when I can provide some security, love, and comfort to them when their humans are away.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
The first thing we will do is set up a meet and greet so I can meet you and your cat(s) and go over their routine. I like to walk through everything that needs to be done so I can get a feel for how to take over your cat care tasks while you're away. It's also a good time for your cat(s) to see and smell me so they can start to get used to their new cat sitter. I also like to test the keys on my way out to make sure I'll be prepared when I come back for my visits.

Melike was wonderful! She has now twice watched my kitty. Both times she provided detailed updates and plenty of photos. My kitty takes a daily medication, and Melike was very patient when he proved resistant to taking his pill. She creatively found new ways for him to take his meds that were more agreeable to him. More importantly, she provided the love and attention that my kitty needed to not as feel lonely while I was away. It is always stressful to leave pets behind, but I knew he was in good hands with Melike!

This was the first time we left our cat alone since we got her 18 months ago, so we were a bit worried. The minute we met Melike in person our worries disappeared. She was genuine and reassuring. While we were away Melike did absolutely everything we asked of her, sent a slew of pictures and detailed updates about the cat's well being. When we came home the litter area had been cleaned and our cat was in excellent shape. We could not be happier with Melike's services and highly recommend her!!!

Melike is a gem. Empathetic and kind, she was wonderful with my two special needs cats! I was a nervous cat mom leaving my two boys for a few days, especially since they eat different things and have different medical concerns, but the pictures she sent were adorable and her messages were detailed, which eased me on my trip. Even my shy kitty came out for pets and brushings from her. She administered medication daily for my cat and accommodated both their feeding needs. The next trip I have I will absolutely book her again!

Melike did a fantastic job with Hugo and Eliot, my senior cats. Eliot is partially blind and does not adjust well to routine changes. Melike made sure that she ate by bringing her food upstairs for her while I was gone. Hugo is a love bug and soaked up all of the attention from her, too.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Baltimore cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
