What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting through Meowtel for over a year now and I absolutely love it. I have regular/repeat cats I get to visit and have been able to bond with those kitties. I am a trusted cat sitter and have cat sit all over the St. Louis area.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love getting to know new cats and spending time with all kinds of cat personalities! The best part is forming bonds with so many cats!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two cats, Sissy and Trico! They are a couple of sweeties, but of course always get themselves into trouble. But I wouldn’t have it any other way! They are my girls :)

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Find someone you are comfortable with and can trust! These are your babies and they deserve the best care possible. Find someone who is willing to bond with your cat and is dedicated to providing them everything they need and more while you’re away.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always like to do a quick meet and greet when I’m cat sitting for someone new. This includes me coming to their home and meeting them face to face as well as meeting the kitties. This allows me to see where everything is and learn exactly what the cats and cat parents need from me, ask questions, and answer any questions the parents have for me. My main priorities as a sitter are comfort and trust, so I want you and your cat to meet me before I start my first visit.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I keep all doors locked at all times, whether I’m there or not. Additionally, I always bring in mail and packages unless asked otherwise and I make sure I know where the cats are before I leave just to ensure they are safe.

Are you usually available during holidays?

My holiday schedule varies, as I do typically go to be with family in Michigan for major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. However, always feel free to ask me because there’s a chance I will be available!

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toys are catnip bubbles! They are completely pet safe, so all kinds of play is encouraged. My kitties either try to catch them with their paws, eat them, or just watch them float around. I love them because they entertain my cats for long periods of time without stimulating anxiety when we’re done like laser pointers do.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I'm very laid back, so my calm energy makes shy or anxious cats comfortable around me. I let them take it at their own pace and try to be as gentle and calm as possible.
