What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have six cats of my own, and I originally started cat sitting after having several negative experiences with sitters while caring for my own cats. Those experiences showed me how important true cat-specific knowledge is, and motivated me to provide a higher standard of care. I have a strong understanding of cat behavior, common triggers, body language, and early signs of illness. I’m very attentive, observant, and dedicated to each cat’s wellbeing. Cat sitting genuinely brings me joy, and I take pride in helping cats feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

When hiring a cat sitter, I always pay close attention to how they interact with my cat right away. Are they comfortable greeting them? Do they respect boundaries and read body language, or do they seem awkward or unsure? Those first moments often say a lot. I also like to explain my cat’s routine and ask questions to see how they respond. Many sitters are primarily experienced with dogs, and that doesn’t always translate well to cats, who need a very different approach. Understanding cat behavior is essential.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

When working with timid or anxious cats, I never force interaction. I move slowly and let them set the pace, allowing them to observe me and smell my hand if they choose. If appropriate, I may offer a treat calmly and without pressure. I always respect their space and boundaries. If a cat wants interaction, I welcome it; if not, I focus on making sure their needs are met and that they feel safe, secure, and comfortable in their environment.

Anita was amazing!! So great with the kitties! It’s such a relief knowing your fur babies are being well taken care of when you go out of town. She sent so many amazing photos and thorough updates everyday. 🩷 Great attention to detail. My cats have a few meds and those were no problem for her at all. Would book her again in a heartbeat!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
