Cat Sitting in New York, NY

CPPS (Certified Professional Pet Sitter)

Full-time trusted cat sitter in NYC serving Manhattan, Brooklyn & sometimes Queens, Jersey City, NJ.

They call me the cat whisperer! I've fostered kitties, adopted older cats and served our feline leaders since 'furever'. My experience includes many kinds of cats and their special quirks that make us fall in love with them.

I will leave your home as if you never left it, and I'll send daily photo updates on how fabulous your kitty feels. My specialty is offering reassurance and peace of mind to shy & nervous cats – humans, too! People are often surprised by how quickly I make furry friends.

———

MEDICAL EXPERIENCE: Includes insulin injections for diabetic cats, oral meds & supplements direct to mouth (pills, liquid, inhaler) or mixed with food, eye & ear drops, transdermal meds & topical ointments.

Does your cat act in strange ways or have special needs? There isn't much I haven't seen in decades of love for cats in this city. However Fluffy likes to get weird, I'm thrilled to do whatever makes kitty happy in their own home...

Clients often tell me I form a unique bond with their cats that no one else has and take the best pictures with my pro photography training. Clients also know they can trust me when other sitters have disappointed them.

FAQ: Which visit length should I book?

45 minutes is my most popular visit, best for more bonding with solo, shy or very active cats, plus more detailed care routines like weight management / weighing & measuring food, temperature control of food or water, encouraging slow or picky eaters, multiple supplement / medication administration, or cats with any other special needs.

60 minutes is the most luxe visit option for any cats who benefit from even more activity and companionship, as well as 3+ cat households who require extra cleanup and care.

20 minutes visits are for straightforward “no-frills” situations with free feed or some kind of automation (i.e. automatic feeder or litter box) in a 1 or 2 cat family with few or no special needs.

Due to longer & costly commutes to other areas, 20 minute visit requests by new clients are more likely to be accepted in Manhattan Upper West Side & below to Downtown Brooklyn + adjacent areas.

Overnight stays are 12 hours guaranteed (sometimes longer as schedule allows) to cover dinner & breakfast the following morning. If more time is desired mid-day, booking additional visits is recommended. I may also be able to venture further outside my usual service area for overnight stays.

For any visit or stay, light household chores such as mail & package retrieval and indoor watering (up to 10 minutes) can be included at no extra cost.

Thank you for making it this far! My chat is always open for any more questions.

Learn More About Rose

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

Cat sitting since 2017, full-time since 2021. I also have experience with adopting and fostering cats throughout my entire life.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I especially love meeting other cat people & being their long-term cat sitter with repeat visits. Your cats will receive all the loving attention in the world with the warm comfort & safety of a familiar presence.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, if you book early. Holiday reservations are in high demand and fill up fast.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I give them time, offer to let them sniff me and my things, respect boundaries and allow them come to me without being too eager with my affection — until they’re ready for it! Sometimes a few supplies like a string toy, treats, some catnip, or or a brush might help to bring them out — depends on what shy kitty likes. I see a few cats who also have Feliway diffusers and are prescribed Prozac or gabapentin if they’re especially stressed or have chronic pain.

For the first time since one of my cats was diagnosed with diabetes, we had a peaceful weekend away visiting my son in Cambridge. Thanks to Rose, my beloved sugar cat Tigre had his insulin shots on time, and little Minou Le Chat Mignon had all the attention he needs. Rose is a great cat sitter and a very sweet and easy going person! We were lucky to find her!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As a new cat owner, I was very nervous about leaving my cat, Danbi, for the first time. Given Danbi's background of coming from a shelter and changing fosters, it was important for me to make sure she had a positive experience. From day one, Rose put my mind at ease. She texted me to let me know Danbi was allowing pets and was even purring! I was amazed to hear how quickly she was warming up to Rose. Rose played with Danbi a lot and helped her personality shine through—something she rarely does with visitors. Danbi even flopped to show her belly♡ Rose's observant nature meant she knew exactly what Danbi needed to feel safe. It was clear Danbi was happy to have a new friend. Rose truly went above and beyond to ensure both Danbi and I (emotionally) were well taken care of during my time away. Thank you, Rose, for your exceptional care!

Rose went above and beyond with taking care of our fur baby. My cat is very shy and refused to come out but rose went to my baby to give her love and pets which she greatly appreciated even while being a very shy cat. Thank you Rose so very much!

We just can't say enough good things about Rose. She is phenomenal with our two wild guys, as well as warm, communicative, and conscientious. She has adjusted with skill, kindness, and good humor to changes around our cats' foods and meds. And to top it off, she's taken some of the best pics we have of them. Rose, we're so grateful for your expert care!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
