Caring Sitter For Cats Of All Ages

I'm Su

Cat Sitting in New York, NY

Cats have been a big part of my life, and I’ve learned that caring for them is often about noticing the little things. 🐾

I have hands-on experience with cats of different ages and needs. I’ve helped TNR six community cats and cared for cats after their spay/neuter surgeries. I’ve also cared for senior cats and cats with kidney and dental issues, so I’m comfortable giving medication and keeping an eye on appetite, drinking, litter box habits, energy levels, and changes in behavior...

I have hands-on experience with cats of different ages and needs. I’ve helped TNR six community cats and cared for cats after their spay/neuter surgeries. I’ve also cared for senior cats and cats with kidney and dental issues, so I’m comfortable giving medication and keeping an eye on appetite, drinking, litter box habits, energy levels, and changes in behavior.

Of course, cat sitting isn’t all serious business! I love playtime, keeping cats active, and giving them affection on their terms — whether that means lots of cuddles or simply sitting nearby until they decide I’ve earned their trust. 😸

After each visit, I’ll send you photos and a little update on how your cat is eating, behaving, and using the litter box, so you won’t have to wonder how they’re doing while you’re away.

I’ve also welcomed cats into my home temporarily when they needed a safe place to stay. I can’t adopt another cat of my own right now, but I still have plenty of cat love to give — and I’d be very happy to share some of it with yours. ❤️

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Look for someone who pays attention to your cat’s normal routine, not just the basic checklist. Cats can be subtle when something isn’t right, so I think a good sitter should notice changes in appetite, litter box habits, energy, and behavior — and communicate those changes with you. Most importantly, your cat should never be forced to interact before they’re ready

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Before the first visit, I like to learn your cat’s routine, personality, feeding schedule, favorite toys and treats, hiding spots, litter box habits, and any medications or special needs. I’ll also ask what is normal for your cat, so I know what to watch for while you’re away. During each visit, I follow your instructions and your cat’s usual routine as closely as possible. Afterward, I’ll send photos and a short update about eating, litter box use, behavior, and how our visit went — so you never have to wonder how your kitty is doing. 🐾

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I have a soft spot for shy cats. I’ve been slowly building trust with a very cautious community cat, and she taught me one important rule: you can’t rush a cat! 😸 I let cats approach me on their own terms and never chase, grab, or force affection. I’m happy to sit quietly nearby, offer treats or play, and let curiosity do the rest. Whether it takes 10 minutes or several visits, I’m perfectly happy to let them set the pace

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
