When I’m at your place, I don’t just feed and clean up after them... Hello there! I’m John, lifelong cat person and your cat’s new bestie! I totally get that every cat is different, with their own special personality, likes, and boundaries. Whether your cat is a social butterfly or a little shy, I take my time to earn their trust. I’m calm, gentle, and patient, always ready to give them plenty of love and attention.
When I’m at your place, I don’t just feed and clean up after them. I make sure they have fun, have someone to play with, and keep a close eye on them so they stay happy, healthy, and stress-free while you’re away. I also send you daily notes, photos, and any changes in their behavior so you know everything’s going well at home.
What makes me special is that I can work with anxious or sensitive cats who need extra care and consistency. I respect their space and let them warm up at their own pace. I also know how to give medications, watch for changes in appetite or litter box habits, and keep routines to reduce stress.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been caring for cats for over 10 years, both personally and as a cat sitter, and it’s truly one of my favorite things to do. Over the years, I’ve cat-sat for a wide variety of feline personalities, from energetic kittens to senior cats with special needs, and I’ve developed a strong understanding of how to adapt to each cat’s unique preferences and routine.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I absolutely adore cat sitting! It’s so rewarding to build trust and connect with each cat on their own special level. There’s nothing quite like earning a slow blink from a timid kitty or seeing a usually independent cat choose to snuggle up next to me. I love learning about their unique personalities, figuring out what makes them feel safe and happy, and being a calm, reliable presence while their owners are away.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do have my own kitty! Her name is Ivy and she is a 6 month old siamese that absolutely loves playtime, cuddles, and all the attention she can get!

John is the best cat sitter I’ve had. He was able to administer an inhaler to my more skiddish tortie with asthma, who normally won’t let anyone but me near her. Both the cats loved him and were happy and well taken care of when I returned. John was kind, timely, and professional. He gave me many updates and photos, which really helped me feel at ease.

I've never hired a stranger to care for my fur babies before so was very nervous about this process. Plus, both my cats have asthma and one can be quite anxious. To my pleasant surprise John was able to keep them both quite happy and healthy! He even tidied up and kept things clean. I was particularly happy that he checked in with me that I'd be home in time to feed them their next meal... that showed some forethought and care which was much appreciated! I would definitely recommend and hire him again!

John was absolutely amazing with my two kitties. The daily updates with pictures were so great and helped with the anxiety I always have on leaving for long trips. John even was able to get my girl kitty to be a little social with him and she usually hates strangers. Will definitely book him again. If you are looking for a cat sitter, John is the way to go!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
