I will understand their individuality (and quirks!) and I commit myself to providing a safe and fun experience for them to be themselves while also getting the care they require. I am consistent with routine, adjustable for your cat, and I have a gentle patient approach to cats of all ages, sizes and characteristics. I know how critical stimulation and playtime are for your cat when you are away, and I make sure every critter I spend time with is given the attention they deserve.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been catsitting for a total of 12 years. I started small and found that I loved meeting, getting to know, and taking care of animals and forming a bond. I expanded my services to the local community and catsit as a passion and profession, becoming more familiar with medical needs and different feeding requirements. In NYC I have been catsitting for a few years in my neighborhood. I find the experience of caring for animals and building relationships to be rewarding and always love when a cat and I grow fond of each other. Plus all the snuggles that come with!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! I have two cats that I co-parent with my partner Lydia. Their names are Nigh and Sammy. Nigh is our old boy (12 years) flamepoint siamese and the lord of the home,. He’s always demanding and very cuddly. Sammy is a girl tabby we inherited recently and is more anxious, but learning and becoming more confident. I wont say they are best friends, but they tolerate each other!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Anyone looking to hire the right person for catsitting should look for someone who is experienced and trustworthy. I would advise to ask about handling their cat’s specific personality and to meet the sitter first to see how they interact with the cat, and also the cat’s level of comfort. Clear communication is also critical to a positive catsitting experience! I advise any customer to discuss the cat’s routine, preferences, and potential issues or behaviors to watch, so that the sitter can adjust their caregiving practices to suit the kitty and the moment.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I make sure I am monitoring the cat’s health signs and behavior closely, which can be the biggest indicator of a potential problem. I ensure I know any emergency protocols, including vet contact information, and any instructions easily on hand for things like allergies, medical conditions, or prior illness symptoms. From a perspective of considering the space, I make sure the cat is safe by removing any potential hazards and double check that windows are closed/screened. I also check food and water regulary and replace to be in line with cleanliness and food safety. I always provide frequent updates especially if preferred by the owner (leaving your cat can cause anxiety!)
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I can catsit at all times of year. Cats need attention and love even when the human goes away for holidays!
What is your favorite cat toy?
I love stick-string toys and how all the cats seem to go wild for them. So fun to watch and play with them when they are trying to catch it.

Luc is a highly intelligent and responsible sitter, who shows initiative when confronting unusual and potentially dangerous situations. In my case, he alerted me that my male Siamese ("Gus") had stopped eating, was refusing any human contact and was exhibiting other strange behaviors. Luc recommended a visit to the Vet, which he then arranged and executed (that is, took Gus to the Vet, correctly described the troubling symptoms, authorized - after speaking with me - all the necessary scans and blood tests and then administered, while I was away, all the newly prescribed medications.) He handled the entire situation beautifully. I should add that Luc's daily messages were detailed and amusing and often contained insights into my two cats' behaviors that I myself had missed. Luk was amazing!! He was patient at the meet and greet so our cat was VERY comfortable by the first sitting. He provided so many photos and videos from each visit, and included cute observations of our cat’s behavior each time. When one of our cat toys broke between visits, he even got on the phone to troubleshoot with us. After his final visit, Luk left a lovely note describing all the things he loved about our cat Kiki! We highly recommend him and will be reaching out to him again in the future, Kiki is quite attached :)

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

This was my first time using meowtel, so of course was a little nervous... How do I choose the right sitter? Can I trust them? Will my fur baby like them? Even before my trip, I knew when I met Luc I made the right choice. He is totally a "cat guy" - really understands they are persnickety royalty and you must meet the cat on their terms. While at the same time understanding they are pets, so we are in charge! The first update during my trip sealed the deal - logistically everything went smooth, Luc communicated all of the pertinent info, and really made me feel at ease that my boy was in good hands. The video and photo updates were frequent and meaningful - and a nice connection to home when I needed it. Honestly my only concern is that by the end of the trip my cat likes him more than me at this point! I am recommending Lic to all of my friends...don't hesitate at all ...and very reasonably priced to boot.

Luc is amazing, a true cat whisperer! During the meet and greet, he had our usually anxious cat feeling very comfortable and our cat was rubbing against his legs and looking for attention from him. From the photos/videos he sent us, I could tell how much our cats enjoyed our time with Luc. I think they were a little disappointed when my husband and I returned!

We’ve had a few cat sitters in the past but our recent experience with Luc was by far the best. We found Luc because he was close to our area and we lucked out. He bonded with our cat very quickly, was very considerate with his updates and we specifically asked Luc to come in the morning and he exactly that.
