I have over 20 years of hands-on cat experience, from bottle babies to senior kitties. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, my family was involved with H.E.L.P. (Homes for Endangered and Lost Pets), where we fostered and rehomed over ten adult cats—each with their own unique health challenges, behavioral nuances, and trust issues. That experience taught me patience, empathy, and how to understand and respect a wide range of feline personalities... I have over 20 years of hands-on cat experience, from bottle babies to senior kitties. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, my family was involved with H.E.L.P. (Homes for Endangered and Lost Pets), where we fostered and rehomed over ten adult cats—each with their own unique health challenges, behavioral nuances, and trust issues. That experience taught me patience, empathy, and how to understand and respect a wide range of feline personalities.

Before moving to NYC, I lived in Denver for 7 years and volunteered with Colorado Feline Foster Rescue (CFFR). My partner and I share our home with two beloved CFFR adoptees: Desert Eagle and Bodyguard. They’re littermates, best friends, and the absolute joy of my life—named after two songs from Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album.

I’m comfortable with all aspects of cat care, including administering medication, bottle feeding, wound care, litter box maintenance, and—of course—delivering daily Churu treats and scouting the best boxes for playtime. Whether your cat is shy, sassy, or snuggly, I’ve likely met their match and can’t wait to care for them.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! I have two rescue cats. Bodyguard and Desert Eagle - BG and Dezzie for short. They are the loves of me and my partner’s lives.

What is your favorite cat toy?

The Cat Dancer! It makes every cat go absolutely wild. It’s so fun to see how this toy brings out the natural play and hunting instincts of cats.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Shy and timid cats are my favorite. My own cat, Dezzie, is very shy and takes a while to warm up to new people. However, I know the importance of slowly building trust, like allowing the cat to approach me on their own terms, move quietly and slowly, sit at their level, etc. I enjoy the process of slowly gaining a cat’s trust over time because I know how valuable it is once you gain it!

Ian is great to work with! He did everything to a T and was accommodating of a couple adjustments that I asked while traveling. His communication was excellent and he sent pictures every day. My cat is sweet but can be shy, and Ian’s gentle demeanor was perfect for her. She can be discerning with humans, but she really warmed up to him which says everything!

Ian is one of the best catsitters we’ve ever had! It is evident how much he loves kitties and will treat yours like they are his own. Not only was he great following the instructions for our cat with allergies and avoiding cross-contamination, but was amazing at giving us thorough updates on the cat’s eating habits, behaviors, and he always included pictures. He let us know what time to expect him back the following visit and was always timely! We were able to enjoy our vacation with zero stress because of how at ease we felt leaving our cats under Ian’s care. We will certainly be booking Ian again!!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
