As a cat owner for 10 years, I've come to enjoy each cat's unique personalities and individual needs. I enjoy entertaining feisty kittens, but have a soft spot for our shy and lovable seniors. There's something so sweet about watching them plop down in the little spot of sunshine on the carpet in the mornings. (they're also easier to snap sweet photos of :) )

When I'm not entertaining cats, I work in education research. I am able to sit most weekday afternoons and evenings. My service area includes Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, and parts of Fairfax County, as well as limited Washington DC neighborhoods.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love meeting all the different cat personalities, and of course giving others the peace of mind that their fur baby is well taken care of!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have one 13 year old baby! Her name is Pilnag, or 'Panther' in Persian.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Slow & easy is the name of the game. If a cat is wary or anxious, I respect their space and let them guide the interaction. I also love sharing some treats and quiet pets if they can be enticed out, but will always defer to what vibes the kitty is putting out!

Gullnar was awesome! she accommodated me during a very last minute Christmas drop in and was absolutely awesome. We had a virtual meet and greet where she asked attentive questions. During the stay she provided very detailed updates and pictures. I felt completely at ease having her caring for my kitties. I recommend Gullnar if you’re looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

Gullnar was kind/friendly, professional, and, (most importantly), wonderful with my cat! She provided me with updates/cute photos while I was away and left my home in perfect condition. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Arlington cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
