I currently have a one-eyed ginger boy that I foster-failed two years ago. I’ve had cats all my life and foster with various rescues in LA (kittens from as young as 5 weeks) - some undersocialized and hissy, some very scared, others easily overstimulated and sometimes especially needy.
I am very caring, responsible and experienced with caring for cats. I will also treat your house as a guest, never intruding on spaces I do not need to access and making sure it is left just as I found it. I make sure to clean your kitty’s bowls and refresh water every day too.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
As a cat-parent who travels quite frequently for work and leisure, I know that it can be stressful to leave your baby. It makes me happy to know that I can help others have a stress free time away from home, while meeting and spending time with new kitty-friends.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My one-eyed ginger shorthair, Slinky! I’ve had him since he was 6 weeks old and a very scared, sickly foster. We went through countless surgeries before I decided I just couldn’t part with this one of a kind boy.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Think carefully about your cat(s)’s personality and what they need. Some cats might do better with just a short amount of time each day, some might prefer overnights. I’m a firm believer that very social cats that are used to adventuring may even do best in boarding facilities with open play sessions. Communicate these personality traits with sitters and on your profile so they can best help you to care for your pet.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Being a calm and quiet energy is the best way to win cats over. I like to talk quietly and sit somewhere at their level that they can observe me from. Letting kitties sniff my things, and offering an outstretched hand that doesn’t try to pet without permission, are good ways to show I’m not dangerous and our relationship is on their terms! I like to ask owners what works best for building their cats’ trust. Some might like to receive treats on the floor, others to play with a toy with you from a safe hiding spot. Building trust depends on a cats personality, but the key is going at their pace. Most of my clients with shy pets have been shocked at how quickly their kitties warm up to me though, often within the first day or two.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Los Angeles cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $36.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Michaela is an excellent choice for a cat sitter. She has extensive experience fostering cats and kittens with multiple health and behavioral issues, so she is prepared for just about anything!
