Cat Sitting in Los Angeles, CA

Lifelong cat dad here! Cats have been a part of my world my entire life (check out toddler me in the photo gallery for proof). I’ve also fostered dozens of cats over the years—mostly bottle babies, which bring endless joy and more than a few sleepless nights. If you’ve ever fed a kitten with its eyes still closed or cleaned up the chaos of a litter just learning to walk, you know how much work it is—and how worth it it feels. Through both fostering and caring for my own, I’ve picked up plenty of hands-on medical experience—everything from flea baths to oral meds, and even sub-q fluids when needed. I’m not a vet, but I’m steady, calm, and comfortable with it all.

These days I live with Dusty and Willow, my two foster fails who came to me as tiny street rescues. Bottle babies turned household rulers, they keep me laughing daily and are a huge “help” with my foster kittens. Dusty teaches them how to play, while Willow teaches them what not to do. Before them was Chloe, my sweet girl who lived to 17. Caring for her through her senior years taught me patience, compassion, and how much the little things matter as cats age.
Because of all this, I’m comfortable with every kind of feline personality. The lap hogs, the shy ones hiding under the bed, the “look but don’t touch” types—I’ve cared for them all. I let cats set the pace and never force interactions. My job is to make sure they feel secure, respected, and loved in whatever way works for them.
When I’m looking after someone else’s cat, I know what it means to hand over that trust. You’ll get real updates, dependable care, and the peace of mind that your cat is safe and happy. My approach is simple: treat every cat like my own until you’re back home.

Learn More About Michael

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve had cats my entire life, and I’ve been fostering bottle babies and other rescue kittens for years. I’m comfortable with feedings, meds, socialization, and everything in between. I’ve also cared for senior cats with health needs, including my own girl Chloe who lived to 17. Whether your cat is a kitten, a senior, or somewhere in between—I’ve been there.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I treat your home the way I’d want someone to treat mine—with care and respect. I double-check doors, windows, and litter box areas, and I always make sure cats are accounted for before I leave. I keep routines consistent and stay in touch so you feel confident everything’s under control while you’re away.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience and space are key. I always let the cat set the pace—I’ll usually sit on the floor and keep things quiet and calm so they can check me out on their own terms. I’ve worked with plenty of undersocialized fosters and shy rescues, so I’m used to reading body language and adjusting based on what each cat needs.

What can we say, Michael was very communicative, thoughtful, and clearly experienced. He checked in during each visit and made sure Lucy felt comfortable and cared for. We really appreciated the updates and the attention he gave her and also shared a tip in which we will use moving forward. We highly recommend!

Michael is an incredible cat daddy. I've lost track of how many fosters he's helped, taking on the task of bottle feeding kittens, facilitating active births, litter box training, and dispensing medicine to seniors. Michael has experience with cats of all ages and loving them so, so well. I feel very secure leaving my senior cat, Zoe, in their care and hanging with their two welcoming cats and whatever foster babies they're supporting.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Los Angeles cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $34.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
