What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love providing cat parents with peace of mind that their little one is well cared for and safe while they are out of town. I know from experience how nerve wracking it can be to leave a precious pet and it’s such a pleasure to alleviate that concern! I also love the special bond that develops with each new cat as I build trust with them. It’s hard to beat the satisfaction of getting a slow blink from a previously wary cat!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I offer free meet and greets (either in person or via a video call) to make sure I’m a great fit for you and your cat. During the meet and greet, I’ll connect with your kitty, we’ll discuss a check-list of your cat’s wants and needs for each visit, I’ll take notes, and I’ll answer any questions you have.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I let each cat set the pace for our interaction. I pay special attention to their approach and body language (ear and tail position) to gauge how much they want to connect and adjust pets and personal space accordingly. I always speak in a soft, comforting voice, say their name, and give slow blinks to establish safety. I then use the routine of the visit to build trust – providing food, treats, a clean litter box. I avoid loud noises, sudden movements, or encroaching on their space. It may take a few visits, but even the most anxious cats tend to warm up to me!

Alex took great care of my cat Josie during a week when I was gone. In addition to keeping Josie's food & water bowls full and litter box clean, she actually got Josie to play with some toys! Josie is a chubby & pretty lazy cat, and Alex showed a lot of patience and diligence enticing Josie with her wand toy until Josie played and had a little workout.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.
