If you ask any of my friends what my favorite thing in the world is, it’s cats! I have two of my own (orange is Rufio; gray is Wendy), and I can’t wait to meet your cat! I’ve had cats my whole life, starting right when I was born. Feeding the cats and emptying the litter box were my chores growing up, so I learned cat care early. I also learned cats can require a lot of patience and nurturing to warm up to you, or they may be warm from the get-go. I respect all cat’s levels of comfort with me and gauge how I act toward them based on their reactions. I’ve been a volunteer with Chicago Animal Care & Control in transporting cats to their foster homes, rescues, and vet appointments. I have also fostered kittens and adult cats. Over the summer, I rescued 4 kittens from an abandoned parking lot: fed them to gain their trust, then arranged for a rescue to trap them and foster them. I then...
