I grew up with dogs, cats and chickens. When my kids... Hi, my name is Manon. After 15 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, I moved to Los Angeles 4 years ago. I am a Social Worker from the Netherlands and I have 2 adult daughters. My passions are photography (I will take cool photos of your animals!), hiking, swimming, exploring new places, concerts and traveling.
I grew up with dogs, cats and chickens. When my kids came they turned out to be allergic to many animals, so we were unfortunately not able to have pets. Since both my daughters went off to College I have been traveling a lot. I have been house sitting quite a bit in those last 4 years. Mostly I've taken care of cats and dogs. Including cats and dogs who needed medication and special care (including hospice care).

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I enjoy most about cats is how to all have such incredible (an different!) personalities. I like to meet them, get to know them, figure them out and connect with them by playing & just hanging out. They are funny and great company!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My favorite cat sitting was with a cat who a first was hiding behind the couch, but within a few days she went from slowly coming out of her hiding, to hang out and now she sleeps on the bed with me. To see the progress is really cool. I now have been to this house dozens of time and she always has one paw on me, where ever I sit.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Also look how cat sitters connect with your cat. They should sit down and let the cat come to them in their own time and space. My sure the sitter is kind, patience, communicative and trustworthy.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Los Angeles cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $34.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
