I'm Jennifer | Cat Sitting in Brooklyn, NY

I have had cats my whole life. My first was a tortie named Pussywillow who walked out of the woods and "chose" my family. I really believe that cats choose their people. Since then I have had lots of experiences like this, from my friends’ cats curling up in my lap to stray cats coming up to me and befriending me on holiday. I love keeping an eye out for cats wherever I go who need a friendly pet. When I’m not cat sitting, I foster kittens with a local organization and help social feral kittens and prepare them for adoption into loving homes. I love getting to know each new personality and watch them grow and thrive as they increase their confidence. I have lots of tricks and techniques for befriending shy kitties, whether through play, affection, or treats. I like to think I’m good at reading cats’ body language and respecting their boundaries, helping them trust me and get comfortable in my company. My first foster kitten was a cat named Heloise and I wound up adopting her. Sometimes you just know a cat is yours, and that was the case with Heloise. She was a beautiful grey floofy cat with a big glorious tail and lots of toe floof. We had four beautiful years together before she passed of cancer this summer. I know how important it is to love and cherish our animals in the brief time we have. As a person who loves to travel and also had a cat, I also understand how difficult it can be to leave a cat at home. With Heloise I couldn’t enjoy myself on vacation if I was worried about her or thought she might not be having a good time. It is my hope to earn your trust and show you that I can make your kitty feel happy and comfortable, and send you lots of updates so you can enjoy your holiday and know your cat is enjoying their time as well. I am a writer who works from home, so I have plenty of flexibility to cuddle and play with energetic kitties during the day.
